At Robin’s House Basics- Simple Syrup

Simple Syrup….Your Summer Cocktail’s Best Friend

Simple syrup is a mainstay in my kitchen in the summer.  I store mine in a mason jar in my refrigerator.  You can store it in your refrigerator tightly sealed for up to 3 months.(mine never lasts that long, I use it up quick!)    It is perfect for a quick Mojito or my killer fresh Margarita.  I’ll share that drink next time I make it ..which I’m sure will be soon.

It’s basic and simple..hence the name simple syrup…

2 parts sugar

1 part water

Bring the water to a boil.  Pour in the sugar and stir constantly until dissolved. When all of the sugar has dissolved remove the syrup from the heat.  It will thicken a bit as it cools.  When cool, place the syrup in a mason jar, put the lid on and it’s ready anytime you’re ready for that refreshing summer drink!
