Dinner With Friends

Two people I’ve known my whole life came to dinner last night with their families in tow.  They are special to me.  You know, the kind of friends that you can see once a year and still talk with like you live next door.  Yeah, that kind of friend.

We could have had Spam and had a great night, the food doesn’t matter it’s being together that matters.

But, because this is At Robin’s House I wanted to make something delicious for them so,  I decided on a classic summer barbecue menu for out repast with the main course being Pork Ribs with my Secret Sauce.  Below is the menu for our get together. I will post recipes from this little soiree later this week. xxoo

Tomato Basil Fresh Mozzarella Crostini

Jalopeno Poppers Wrapped in Bacon

Main Course

Barbecue Pork Ribs with Secret Sauce

Zucchini Casserole

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Brown Rice Salad

Grilled Broccoli

Quinoa Stuffed Poblano Peppers

Dessert

Blueberry Crisp with Homemade Whipped Cream

Eva’s Chocolate Cake

I chose recipes that could be made ahead and then placed in the oven an hour or so before dinner.  That way I could spend more time with these special people.

    Loved seeing all of you and being at your lovely house again. It was just too short! I wished I had asked to take a couple of slices of that wonderful chocolate cake home – we all wanted more the next day. Miss you!

    This was FABULOUS! Robin, you could even make SPAM taste and look amazing – but this dinner was awesome! I love that you’re posting recipes; every time I leave Robin’s House I want recipes, recipes, recipes!!
